At the National Institute of Performing Arts (NIPA), we are very excited about all the interesting avenues that can be explored through the medium of performing arts.

Most children, these days, have a chock-a-bloc academic schedule. Thus, enrolling them into any kind of performing arts comes as a least priority for many parents. But, there are many reasons why performing arts should be made an integral part of the child’s educational life – either by encouraging participation across various school initiatives or by ensuring enrollment in the form of an extra-curricular activity.

Research has proved that involvement in any kind of performance art has far reaching effects both on the mental as well as the emotional well-being of young children. Reports also suggest that school children who are exposed to drama, music, and dance are found to be more proficient in reading, writing, and Math vis-à-vis students who have no exposure to such art forms.

Another obvious benefit of performing arts is the improvement that it brings forth in self-presentation skills along with a boost in confidence and the development of poise. Participation in arts also helps to overcome stage fright and improves social interactions too.
